Castletown snatch draw with late rally
Former senior hurling kingpins Castletown came from six points down with three minutes remaining to earn a 1-12 to 1-12 draw with Mountrath in an exicting championship clash at O’Moore Park last weekend.
With Thomas Russell in fine scoring form, Mountrath looked to have done enough until Castletown staged a late rally which included points from James Hooban, David Cuddy and Joe Delaney, and a goal from Padraig Cuddy.
In the week’s other senior hurling championship game, Tinnahinch gained a somewhat fortunate 2-9 to 0-13 victory over Camross. The Tinnahinch goalscorers were James Young and Joe Conroy.

Entering injury-time, Camross’ substitute Tomas Burke reduced the gap to four points before Keenan put one score between them with a point.
When forward Damien Culleton was pulled down, Keenan drove the ball to the net to restore parity.
